All the directors below offer their services on a fully voluntary basis. The company is always happy to receive offers
of assistance with all aspects of the business from people with suitable
experience.
Jamila Gavin won the Whitbread children’s prize for her novel Coram
Boy. Her father Terence Khushal founded North South Travel.
Sean Rowe is a chartered accountant, specialising in advising small
businesses.
Grant Smith is a quantity surveyor and consultant and travels
extensively in Africa. He is chairman of the charity Hand in Hand.
Richard Trillo is a freelance travel writer and editor, and former director of communications
at Rough Guides.
Nigel Watt MBE has wide experience in the voluntary sector, especially
in Africa, and is a former director of the Africa Centre.
Applying for a grant
The NST Development Trust is happy to receive applications from small charities and development organisations. Applications can be mailed to the North South Office in Chelmsford (address at foot of page) or emailed using the link on the left. Succcessful applications are from organisations in which the Trust's funds can make a significant difference and where trustees can be sure the money is being used wisely. Applications are considered twice each year in January and June.
