UYEPA's motivation for getting started was to protect the environment.
They are involved in vocational training and pig-rearing with a particular emphasis to their main vision of protecting the environment. They therefore educate and encourage small business using environmentally friendly methods, encouraging use of natural resources and recycling.
Their request to the NST Development Trust was for tools and finance to support the pig programme. They are training villagers in pig-rearing, using improved breeds.
In so doing they encourage community responsibility and assist rural villagers to help themselves out of poverty.
